We visited the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA) last Thursday. You had the opportunity to learn hands on about Food Webs, explored nature on a trail hike, and study an aquatic ecosystem. Tell me about your experience at LLELA. What new things did you learn? What was review for you? What was your favorite part? Please write a paragraph with at least 5 sentences.

LLELA is the best place you could go. Because I learned every living thing needs a habitat. A review for me was all that producer, carnivore, and hervibore. My teacher taught me that. My favorite part is that I got to see lots of things in that hike and it’s a good thing to explore. You should all go to LLELA, it’s cool.

I learned about foodwebs, foodchains, and about the animal habitats. The review for me was discussing predators, herbivores, and omnivores. My favorite part was hiking. We saw all kinds of things like scat, feathers, bugs, and birds.I liked when we were caching the water bugs. They were so interesting. I loved going to LLELA!

Theres lots of stuff that we saw in LLELA. We saw fish and lots of woods. Did you know that LLELA has 2,000 acres of land? Well thats true! The animals have 2,000 acres to roam free and to live in different habitats. That’s the whole purpose of LLELA. Lots of people are moving in on animal habitats and they start dying out!And thats how they become exctinct. So they built LLELA for the animals. I forgot to mention we learned about the food web.

When I went to LLELA, I saw insects. Then we study the food web about animals. Then when we walked we saw lots of foot prints. Mrs.Krofina gave us animals and plants to find the food web. I like the field trip because we study abaut animals that I didn’t know.

LLELA is the place you can learn about lots of animals. What we learn about is about herbivores, carnivores, and producers. What we learn about them is that hervivores eats plants, carnivors eats meat, and another thing we learn is about that they live in habitats. My favorite part is that we were finding alot of animals in the water. You should go to LLELA, it is cool.

My favorite part of the day was that I got to spend time with my friends and teacher.I learned that when something is dead it turns to a decomposer. LLELA is a fun place to be with your friends. You get to experience new things. I had alot of fun with Mrs. Pena she was a good tacher and she really took care of us. I hope I can go there again and again.

When I went to llela I saw different things and other kinds of things. One of the things I saw in the hike was a footprint of a bobcat and another footprint of a deer and other different prints. Then we went to a long hike where a woman was telling us about some birds that were making nests but we didn’t see them. While we were in the hike we took pictures and wrote on our science journals. Then it was very hot and everyone was very hot too it was like a desert. So then we went back to school and we were talking about what we saw and wrote.

  10. ED Says:

We did a food web with a string and some pictures like some animals and one person where it ends. I learned about how foot prints look like the Bobcat and some other animal footprints. I think that the snake that the other class saw it was review because I have seen a snake at my friend’s house. My favorite part was when we did the food web and when we eat lunch in LELLA. That was awesome because I ate outside with my friends.
